Resident Engineer [Location: Middle East]

Emerdis requires a Resident Engineer for client site in the Middle East, who will be responsible for installation, ongoing  daily operational technical support, product development and upgrades  for a packaging & sorting system at client site.  

 

The engineer would be responsible for delivering first and second level technical support to installed equipment ensuring technical standards and operational procedures are followed. The engineer should ensure equipment meets the expectations of throughput and uptime by providing break/fix support and identifying root cause analysis and recommended corrective actions keeping within defined SLA’s. Equipment specific training will be provided.

Accountabilities: 1.To support the overall satisfaction through a positive, constructive and helpful attitude, timely and efficient work practices, and open and honest communication. 2.To maintain, operate equipment to defined standards through break/fix, periodic maintenance and continuous machine performance monitoring and improvement by active involvement, including software backup, machine reading software, reporting tools, performance analysis, as defined in scope of contract. 3.To ensure that technical standards are maintained, and paperwork, business data systems and operational procedures are adhered to. 4. To support the overall Client Care organization through: a.Proper adoption and use of defined procedures. b.Proper and complete use of system for data capture and tracking of activities and information. c.Proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment in your possession (Toolkits, PC’s, tablets, phones etc). d.Appropriate maintenance and development of own skills and knowledge through reading available technical documentation, technical bulletins, announcements etc 5. To coach and mentor client operators to effectively fulfil their roles and functions. To carry out any other reasonable tasks as directed by line management. 6. Inventory and critical spare part management, ordering. Scope of Responsibility: The Resident Engineer is expected to work autonomously. The Resident Engineer owns and is accountable for work items he takes on (line maintenance, daily production line set up, job switchover, cleaning, repairs, troubleshooting, escalation etc.) The Resident Engineer will be working in an environment where large volumes of confidential data are regularly handled. The Resident Engineer must maintain strictest levels of confidentiality regarding all such data at all times. The Resident Engineer must be aware of and comply with all Health & Safety requirements on Site, and all other rules and instructions defined by the Client. Candidate Requirements: Excellent spoken & written English (Arabic/English bi – lingual would be an advantage) Resides , or willing to reside in GCC for a minimum contacted period of 2 years. Must possess a valid passport free from any restrictions. Essential PC and basic Microsoft tools Literate. At least 5 years experience of working in electrical, mechanical & pneumatic systems offering technical site maintenance in a fast-paced operating environment. Ability to read & understand electrical diagrams & technical manuals to identify and communicate root cause problem analysis and corrective action. Experience of working in GCC would be an added advantage.
